AI Member Awarded World’s Best Eco Friendly Golf Facility Award

Audubon International learned recently of Osprey Point’s selection by the World Golf Awards as their 2016 “World’s Best Eco Friendly Golf Facility” presented in Conrad Algarve, Portugal.  Winners are chosen based on votes cast by the public, and by golf and travel professionals.  Nominees must demonstrate “leadership in environmental stewardship and be creative and responsible in planning, design, construction and management of unique, resource efficient golf facilities.” Among the nominees were other golf courses such as No. 2 at Pinehurst, The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, The Gleneagles, and five other international facilities.

Audubon International also recognized Osprey Point, owned and operated by Palm Beach County, for the outstanding achievements accomplished during the design and construction of the 27-hole golf facility.  Osprey Point earned designation in 2011 as the first Certified Classic Sanctuary in Florida for the employment of Best Management Practices including use of infiltration sumps, special management zones, vegetative buffers, and ongoing water quality management and monitoring.

AI is proud of the work that is being done at Osprey Point. Congratulations on the recent recognition by World Golf Awards!
